Versions of DB2 exist for a large array of platforms, of which the mainframe (z/OS) is only one. Of course, it is my favorite one since I’ve been working on mainframe technology now for decades and have worked with DB2 since Version 1.It used to be easy: DB2 meant IBM’s mainframe SQL database management system based on the relational model.
